Passages

Passages explores the mythic struggle of Victorian-era women in seafaring cultures. While researching journeys taken by Victorian era sailors on Lake Michigan -- I wanted to pay tribute to those who had lost their lives -- with great reverence for those women who  lost loved ones at sea, only to be left alone to navigate their own lives on shore.
